For the second consecutive year, in celebration of World Health Day, the TDC Group of Companies, the Nevis Health Promotion Unit and the ICDF hosted a Health and Wellness Fair on Friday 5th April 2024, at the Longstone Building Parking Lot in Charlestown, Nevis.

The fair featured a diverse range of free activities and health services aimed at empowering nationals to make better informed decisions about their general health and wellbeing. These included presentations by the Nevis Red Cross Society, the introduction of the volunteer blood drive by the Alexandria Hospital, and the preparation and tasting session of healthy meals and snacks from Chef Michael Henville and the In Ya Kitchen Team.

Local business houses were also given the opportunity to showcase their products  including the City Drug Store, TDC Home and Building Depot, Native Radiance, Seal My Sip, as well as, health related organizations, the Nevis Red Cross, Lake Health and Wellness debuted a health and wellness game for children to encourage healthier eating choices, the Nevis Mental Health Society, the Nevis Dental Association, the St. Kitts and Nevis Alliance for Equality, along with the Health Promotion Unit  and the Taiwan ICDF providing health screenings and one on one informational consultations with valuable information and tools to support the attendees’ journey toward optimal health.

In speaking about the event, Mr. Dominic Matthew, TDC Marketing Assistant said, “We are thrilled to partner with the Health Promotion Unit and the Taiwan ICDF once again to host the second annual Health and Wellness Fair. As advocates for community health and well-being, we believe that events like these play a crucial role in raising awareness and fostering positive lifestyle changes.”

Ms. Terysia Herbert, Education and Prevention Officer in the Nevis Health Promotion Unit hailed the fair as another success and highlighted the importance of having the event featured on the Unit’s calendar.

“We are committed to promoting a culture of health and wellness within our community with another successful staging. By partnering with organizations like TDC Group of Companies and the ICDF, we can leverage our collective resources to provide impactful initiatives like the Health and Wellness Fair, which we ill be adding to our list of activities in 2025.”

The Health and Wellness Fair was open to the public, and was held under the theme, “My Health, My Right.”

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, August 1, 2023 – Dedication, meritorious service, and outstanding achievements were celebrated at the elegant TDC Staff Awards Gala, held under its 50th anniversary theme, “Your Neighbour, Your Partner, Your Future” at the St. Kitts Marriot Resort, on Saturday 29 July 2023.

The impressive formal standalone activity was attended by over four hundred staff from across the company and saw the presentation of awards to one hundred and twenty-five (125) employees for five (5) to fifty (50) years of dedicated service.

In keeping with TDC’s mandate to put employees first, staff also got an opportunity to nominate their peers for the Impact Awards, while the Employee of the Year Awards, named in honour of former and current employees, were nominated by Management. One hundred and nine (109) nominees were received for the Impact Awards and fifty-three (53) for the Employee of the Year Awards.

Three (3) employees, Duan Belle (Enterprise Risk), Atisha Byron (TDC Insurance Company Limited) and Wayne Woodley (TDC Financial Services Company Limited) were rewarded for their contribution to the introduction of new initiatives in their respective departments that would increase productivity and efficiency.

Consistent with TDC’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, former TDC Chairman and now Board Director, Mr. D. Michael Morton CBE, JP was recognized for his fifty (50) years of sterling stewardship.

The all-inclusive TDC event featured Warren C Tyson Memorial Alumni Scholars, Mr. Crios Freeman, Techelle McClean, the host and hostess, and Wesleyan Holiness Pastor Reverend Renicia Huggins, who delivered an inspiring keynote address, reminding staff of the importance of corporate and family values.

Everyone was in high spirits throughout the night where staff won giveaways and prizes, and participated in the cultural presentations from EBJ Harmonics, the Okolo Tegremantine Dance Theatre, and Sylvester’s Masquerades, and musical entertainment by D J Wett Dutt and the New Horizons Band.

Official Rules and Regulations

ENTRY PERIOD: The promotion relates to Eligible Transactions which occur during the period June 1st, 2023, to November 30th, 2023.
DRAWS: One draw shall be held on the last business day of each calendar month during the Entry Period. The entries for each draw shall comprise Eligible Transactions made during the calendar month in which the draw is held. One winner will be selected in a random drawing for each draw.

ELIGIBLE TRANSACTIONS and ENTRIES: Only cash purchases and entry into hire purchase contract made or entered into during the Entry Period (“Eligible Transactions”) shall be eligible for entries into draws. Each Eligible Purchaser shall be entitled to one entry into each draw for each TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS EASTERN CARIBBEAN DOLLARS (EC$250.00) cash purchase made and one entry for each hire purchase contract entered during the Entry Period.

Charlestown, Nevis – Health and Wellness took center stage on Friday 14th April 2023, when the TDC Nevis Limited, the Nevis Health Promotion Unit, and the Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) hosted the inaugural Health and Wellness Fair, in the Longstone Building Parking Lot, in Charlestown.

The community event began at 9 a.m. and ran until 5 p.m., featured free dental and health screenings, mental health services, rapid HIV testing, health and beauty care products, and educational demonstrations.

Health and Wellness organizations including the City Drug Store (Nevis) Limited, Nevis Renal Society, Nevis Red Cross Society, SAGICOR Life Agency, Pink Lily Breast Cancer Care, and Lake Health and Wellbeing, were manned by professionals who shared their knowledge and information about the services offered.

Additionally, the Alexandra Hospital had its first mobile blood donor drive to encourage people to register to become blood donor volunteers.

Patrons will also had many opportunities to win exciting prizes when they visited or patronized the different booths to interact and learn more about general wellbeing.

This collaboration with TDC Group of Companies and various health agencies in the Federation, is part of the activities to mark the company’s fiftieth anniversary, which is currently being celebrated under the theme, Your Neighbour, Your Partner, Your Future, and the TDC Home and Building Depots Get ACTIVE campaign.

Following the successes of its Shop and Share initiative, the TDC Business Centre and City Drug Store (Nevis) Limited have launched its school-based outreach programme.

Customers and clients can now purchase of a wide variety of school essentials (exercise books, backpacks, paper, crayons, scissors, pencils, pens, glue, markers, folders, erasers, as well as, arts and crafts supplies, etc.) and place them in specially constructed Yellow School Buses that are conveniently parked at the Point of Sale counters in the stores.

In exchange for their contribution, they will receive a ten percent (10) shoppers’ coupon towards their next purchase as a token of appreciation to the worthwhile cause.

At the end of each month until September, the educational materials will be sorted by staff and distributed to several children across the Federation based on their need with the aim of helping them to achieve success in the classroom.

Shop and Share started in 2015 and forms part of the annual Back to School promotional drive. It complements the TDC Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility activities which are specifically geared towards encouraging academic excellence.
