BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, August 1, 2023 – Dedication, meritorious service, and outstanding achievements were celebrated at the elegant TDC Staff Awards Gala, held under its 50th anniversary theme, “Your Neighbour, Your Partner, Your Future” at the St. Kitts Marriot Resort, on Saturday 29 July 2023.

The impressive formal standalone activity was attended by over four hundred staff from across the company and saw the presentation of awards to one hundred and twenty-five (125) employees for five (5) to fifty (50) years of dedicated service.

In keeping with TDC’s mandate to put employees first, staff also got an opportunity to nominate their peers for the Impact Awards, while the Employee of the Year Awards, named in honour of former and current employees, were nominated by Management. One hundred and nine (109) nominees were received for the Impact Awards and fifty-three (53) for the Employee of the Year Awards.

The winners of the Impact Award were as follows:

Making A Difference in Our Community, Dominic Matthew, Client Relations and Marketing Department

Going Beyond the Call of Duty, Francisco Benjamin, TDC Airline Services Limited

Punctuality and Attendance Award, Octavia Caines, TDC Home and Building Depot (St. Kitts)

Runner Up Trecia Pemberton-Browne, Human Resource Officer, Human Resources Department

D. Michael Morton Employee of The Year Award for Sales Excellence

Winner Ira Bertie, Project and Field Officer, TDC Home and Building Depot (Nevis)

Runner Up Janell Dias-Jones, TDC Insurance Company Limited (St. Kitts)

Barbara Farrell Memorial Employee of the Year Award for Service Excellence

Winner Dominic Matthew, Marketing Assistant, Client Relations and Marketing Department

Runner Up Natasha Bristol, Head Cashier, TDC Home and Building Depot (Nevis)

Three (3) employees, Duan Belle (Enterprise Risk), Atisha Byron (TDC Insurance Company Limited) and Wayne Woodley (TDC Financial Services Company Limited) were rewarded for their contribution to the introduction of new initiatives in their respective departments that would increase productivity and efficiency.

Consistent with TDC’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, former TDC Chairman and now Board Director, Mr. D. Michael Morton CBE, JP was recognized for his fifty (50) years of sterling stewardship.

The all-inclusive TDC event featured Warren C Tyson Memorial Alumni Scholars, Mr. Crios Freeman, Techelle McClean, the host and hostess, and Wesleyan Holiness Pastor Reverend Renicia Huggins, who delivered an inspiring keynote address, reminding staff of the importance of corporate and family values.

Everyone was in high spirits throughout the night where staff won giveaways and prizes, and participated in the cultural presentations from EBJ Harmonics, the Okolo Tegremantine Dance Theatre, and Sylvester’s Masquerades, and musical entertainment by D J Wett Dutt and the New Horizons Band.
