The Cashier/Clerk will be responsible for processing all transactions accurately and efficiently in accordance with established policies and procedures, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and providing exceptional customer service.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

– Receive cash and cheque deposits from customers and issue receipts

– Maintain and balance cash daily

– Prepare customers’ receipts for mailing where required after completing transaction/s in a timely manner

– Prepare customer statements as required

– Prepare and save the Daily Activity Report of all transactions for the Internal Auditors

– Print all daily transactions including receipts and deletions

– Maintain a daily record of all transactions and submit to the Assistant Operations Manager for review

– Perform the required credit checks with all financial institutions and provide the information to the respective Personal Lending Officer

– Perform the duties of the Administrative Assistant/Customer Service Representative and the Loans Clerk, as needed

– Any other duties that may be assigned

Qualification and Experience

– An Associate’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

Requirements

– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

– Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

– Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

TDC is currently seeking applications from experienced, energetic professionals to fill the position of Recoveries Manager at the TDC Financial Services Company Limited, Central Street, Basseterre, St. Kitts.

The Recoveries Manager will be responsible for overseeing the recovery processes within the organization, ensuring effective management of outstanding debts and enhancing recovery rates by ensuring debts are recovered.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

– Ensure policies and procedures are reviewed and implemented by the Department

– Ensure an aggressive follow-up is done on all delinquent loans to ensure they return to order in the shortest possible time frame

– Ensure annual loan review is completed as per ECCB Prudential guidelines

– Ensure arrears are maintained within the agreed targets and new provisions and write-offs are minimal

– Ensure all matters pertaining to classified debts are handled, which includes meeting with the customers, contacting them by phone or letter, etc. to discuss their account. Ensure file notes are prepared after every interaction with the customer

– Work closely with the corporate attorneys on all matters relating to delinquent accounts as well as classified debts

– Ensure the Early Warning Account status (EWA) is assigned to all accounts where applicable

– Maintain a master list of Early Warning Accounts and prepare relevant reports

– Prepare the Quarterly Early Warning Account report and submit to the General Manager for review

– Prepare required request forms to classify accounts in arrears over ninety (90) days for approval by the General Manager

– Prepare and submit Classified Debt reports quarterly to the General Manager

– Prepare and submit monthly delinquency reports to the General Manager

– Prepare the required Request for Write Off report for submission to the General Manager in respect of accounts identified to be written off

– Prepare a write off loan list that is within the statute of limitations with an action plan for recoveries

– Issue the Standard Letter of Instructions to Professional Valuers to prepare valuations for properties charged to TDC Financial Services Company Limited. Upon receipt, ensure it is addressed to TDC Financial Services Company Limited and compare its contents with the Letter of Instructions

– If needed, review the appraisals received from Appraisers to ensure its contents are in line with the Letter of Instructions and the Real Estate Valuation Policy when appraisals for clients are requested by the Credit Department

– Ensure a Caution List is prepared and updated at least quarterly and circulated accordingly to the relevant departments

– Prepare Annual Appraisal Reports for the respective officers within the department and submit same to the General Manager for review

– Submit a summary report on Department performance. This should include:

– the number of classified debt and movement in on non-performing loans percentage

– the number of delinquent loans under ninety (90) days

– the number of accounts in early warning

– the number of monthly loans write offs and total number of loan write offs within the statute of limitations

– the progress of the annual loan review

– the number of loans at the Solicitors

– Any Department challenges

– Any other duties that may be assigned

Qualification/Experience/Requirements

– A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field

– Proven experience in debt recovery, credit management, or a related field

– Strong leadership and team management skills

– Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability

– Knowledge or relevant laws and regulations governing debt recovery

– Proficient in financial analysis tools and software

– Strong communication and interpersonal skills

– Ability to work in a fast environment and meet timely deadlines

– High level of organizational and multitasking skills

– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Recovery Management Software

The TDC Financial Services Company Limited (formerly the St. Kitts Nevis Finance Company Limited – FINCO) will celebrate thirty (30) years of providing financial solutions in the Federation, on Wednesday 25th April 2024.

To commemorate this significant milestone, the company will be hosting a week-long celebration of activities that will begin on Monday 22nd April. These will include School Presentations, Community Outreach Day, Customer Appreciation Day, Radio Promotional Interviews (TDC Financial Services Then and Now) and a Staff Retreat at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort to honour its dedicated staff members.

Reflecting on the journey, Mr. Steve Farier, the General Manager, expressed profound gratitude, stating, “TDC Financial Services Company Limited is honoured to be celebrating three decades of service to the people of St. Kitts and Nevis. BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, August 1, 2023 – Dedication, meritorious service, and outstanding achievements were celebrated at the elegant TDC Staff Awards Gala, held under its 50th anniversary theme, “Your Neighbour, Your Partner, Your Future” at the St. Kitts Marriot Resort, on Saturday 29 July 2023.

The impressive formal standalone activity was attended by over four hundred staff from across the company and saw the presentation of awards to one hundred and twenty-five (125) employees for five (5) to fifty (50) years of dedicated service.

In keeping with TDC’s mandate to put employees first, staff also got an opportunity to nominate their peers for the Impact Awards, while the Employee of the Year Awards, named in honour of former and current employees, were nominated by Management. One hundred and nine (109) nominees were received for the Impact Awards and fifty-three (53) for the Employee of the Year Awards.

Consistent with TDC’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, former TDC Chairman and now Board Director, Mr. D. Michael Morton CBE, JP was recognized for his fifty (50) years of sterling stewardship.

The all-inclusive TDC event featured Warren C Tyson Memorial Alumni Scholars, Mr. Crios Freeman, Techelle McClean, the host and hostess, and Wesleyan Holiness Pastor Reverend Renicia Huggins, who delivered an inspiring keynote address, reminding staff of the importance of corporate and family values.

Everyone was in high spirits throughout the night where staff won giveaways and prizes, and participated in the cultural presentations from EBJ Harmonics, the Okolo Tegremantine Dance Theatre, and Sylvester’s Masquerades, and musical entertainment by D J Wett Dutt and the New Horizons Band.

Basseterre, St. Kitts – 10th July 2023 was an historic day for the TDC Group of Companies, it was the company’s official birthday.

On this day in 1973, the company’s founders purchased the assets of J W Thurston and Company Limited and H F Wildy and Company Limited and completed the official transfer of title, of what is today, the St. Kitts Nevis Anguilla Trading and Development Company Limited (TDC).

To mark the occasion a series of activities were held throughout the day:

  • 50th Anniversary Cake Cutting Ceremonies in St. Kitts and Nevis with customers and staff
  • Birthday gifting to two (2) TDC customers celebrating on 10th July

The customer focused celebrations continued on Thursday 13th July and Friday 14th 2023. The TDC Insurance Company Limited (TDCIC) and TDC Financial Services Company Limited offered the first fifty (50) customers who opened a new insurance policy or activated a loan for a minimum of five hundred dollars (EC$500.00) received corporate promotional tokens for their business.

On Friday 14th July and Saturday 15th July 2023, all TDC retail stores, i.e., TDC Automotive Divisions, City Drug Store (Nevis) Limited and TDC Home and Building Depots, gave patrons who spent fifty (EC$50.00) or more received a variety of 50th anniversary prizes.   

TDC Days were a resounding success within and outside the company and already consideration is already being given to making it a fixture on the firm’s annual calendar. It will include involvement and full participation of staff, shareholders, and other stakeholders to commemorate its significance.

Basseterre, St. Kitts – On Monday 6th March 2023, the TDC Financial Services Company Limited (St. Kitts) Branch opened from its new location on Central Street (directly opposite the Norwich Holiness Church) in Basseterre.

The new location was blessed by Pastor Gaston Harris of the Beacon of Hope Church, which was attended by company executives, branch managers and staff, and followed by the official customer welcome, who were treated to corporate tokens and refreshments to celebrate the occasion.

In greeting the first batch of customers, Mr. Steve Farier, the General Manager stated, “we are very happy to welcome you to our new office. Our upgraded and modern spaces were designed to better accommodate and serve the needs of not just our staff, but also our valued customers and clients as well.”

He also noted, “we have made the offices esthetically pleasing which will surely enhance our overall customer experience for many persons who will come through our doors.”

Teachers and staff at the Tucker Clarke Primary School were given a brand new Premier eighteen (18) cubic foot refrigerator, thanks to a generous contribution from the TDC Financial Services Company Limited.

The appliance was handed over by Mr. Wayne Woodley, TDC Financial Services Operations Manager, to Mr. Devon Harris, School Principal, at a brief ceremony, on Tuesday 1st March 2022, at the school.

According to Mr. Harris, “the school is currently working on renovating some of the spaces at the school, which includes the staff room. The idea is to create both a working and relaxing environment for our hard-working staff. We organized several fundraisers and made a formal request to the TDC Financial Services Company Limited for assistance, and they willingly agreed to support us.

He also added, “the refrigerator will be housed in our upgraded staff room.  On behalf of myself, and all the staff, we say thank you the TDC Financial Services Company Limited for their kind donation. Your donation says that you understand the value of education and how important it is to have the resources.”

The much-needed equipment will now help to fast track a series of planned activities that are specifically geared towards completing the upgrades by the end of the academic year in 2022.

The TDC Financial Services Company Limited has once again been underscored its commitment to academic advancement with the presentation of its annual Academic Excellence Award.

The TDC Group of Companies congratulates Mr. Steve Farier, General Manager, TDC Financial Services Company Limited, on his appointment as President of the Bankers and Financial Services Association of St. Kitts and Nevis.

He brings to the post a wealth of knowledge, with over fifteen (15) years of experience, having succeeded Mr. Chad Allen, Manager (St. Kitts Operations) of The Bank of Nevis, (formally Royal Bank of Canada).

Mr. Farier holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Financial Analysis and Fund Management from the University of Exeter (UK) and is a Certified Residential Underwriter (CRU),as well as, a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).

According to Mr. Farier, “It is with tremendous gratitude that I accept this new challenge. The BFSA aims to preserve a sound banking system by increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of banking services within St. Kitts and Nevis. We all know the crucial role that financial institutions play in our everyday personal and business lives. Hence, by promoting the general welfare and usefulness of banking, the BFSA acts as the primary outside resource for its members in accomplishing their goals and objectives.”
