Basseterre, St. Kitts – The monument at the gateway to the Sir Kennedy Simmonds Highway has been given a facelift, thanks to the TDC Group of Companies.
The TDC 50th Anniversary Community Outreach Committee and Staff, on Monday 29th May 2023, met at the third roundabout in Frigate Bay, to repair the environmental damage to the marker, and give it a fresh coat of paint.
According to Ms. Maritza Bowry, Committee Chair, “The upgrade to the Sir Kennedy Simmonds Highway monument will also include the new plaque at its base that will give an overview of its historical significance. This is another one of our many projects undertaken recently on both islands. To date, we have held a successful Health and Wellness Fair on Nevis, supported the Chip Een initiative, and collaborated with the Rotary Club of Liamuiga Saddlers Home for the Elderly Repainting Project, to name a few.”
She added, “As we continue to celebrate our golden anniversary, TDC will continue to engage in more impactful hands-on community-based projects, in St. Kitts and Nevis in the coming months. These ventures will also include many of our social, civic partners and stakeholders, as we continue to give back to our community, as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility.”
The year-long series of 50th anniversary activities and events are being held under the theme, Your Neighbour, Your Partner, Your Future, and will run until January 31st, 2024.
