Students enrolled in the Learning Support programme at the Saddlers Secondary School will now have access to technology that will enhance the teaching and learning capabilities.

On Tuesday 11th September 2018, before a packed classroom, that also included Mr. Daryll Lloyd, Chief Education Officer, Mrs. Nicole Warde-Morris, Learning Support Coordinator and, Mrs. Julia Byron-Isaac, School Principal, Ms. Evon Rogers, General Manager of the TDC Insurance Company Limited handed over a brand-new Canon Pixma 531 Multi-Function Printer to Mrs. Donaly Liburd-Caesar, the Head of the Department.

In making the presentation of the state-of-the-art device, the Insurance Executive spoke of her company’s commitment to Education and how the donation will benefit the institution’s programmes.

“We understand the value of Education and consider this donation to be a most practical and fitting tool to help to support the development of students in this programme. We are confident you will use it wisely to also advance your curriculum and by extension your school’s academic agenda,” said Rogers.

In response, Mrs. Donaly Liburd-Caesar, expressed profound appreciation to Ms. Rogers on behalf of the Ministry, the school, and the department for the timely contribution.

“On behalf of the Ministry of Education, the Saddlers Secondary School, and myself, I say a heartful thank you. I was overwhelmed by the level of support we received from the TDC Insurance Company Limited when we made our request to help us meet the required needs of our unit. This contribution will surely go a long way in helping our students to achieve their assigned tasks. Your assistance is greatly appreciated,” remarked Liburd-Caesar.

With the newly acquired equipment, the teachers and students will now be able to perform mobile printing by using their compatible smart devices to print or scan photos and documents.  It will give them access to the free PPS Cloud printing app function to print directly from select popular online Cloud services, such as, Picasa Web Albums, Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, and Dropbox.

With its auto duplex printing, they can also print automatically on both sides of paper and can help reduce paper usage and cost by up to fifty percent (50%). The automatic document feeder, which holds up to thirty (30) sheets of paper, will also make it easier to copy, scan or fax multiple page documents.

Since opening its doors to the public in 1987, the TDC Insurance Company Limited (TDCIC), a staunch supporter of educational advancement has also endorsed similar projects at various Primary and Secondary schools across the Federation.

The administrative efforts of the Advancement of Children Foundation (ACF) have been further strengthened, thanks to the timely donation of a brand-new notebook computer from the TDC Group of Companies.

Mr. Evris Huggins, manager of the TDC Business Centre handed over the Lenovo E560 computer, valued at four thousand and fifty-five dollars (EC$4055.00) to Ms. Maureen Bailey, Administrator of the Non-Governmental Organisation, at a brief ceremony held at the retail store on Central Street, in Basseterre.

In accepting the much-needed device, Ms. Bailey thanked the company for its generous contribution to assist the organisation’s in carrying out its mandate, which is to make a difference in the lives of young people.

“I really want to express the ACF’s gratitude to the TDC Group of Companies for their generosity, for not only providing the laptop to us but also for once again showing their support and belief in ACF and the work we do in our community. TDC has been a part of our mission since the inception, as a founding partner. Without their support, we would not be able to realise our goals,” said Bailey.

In response, Mr. Huggins stated, “it is a pleasure for the TDC Group to continue its commitment to the AFC.  We wish you continued success in your endeavours.”

Basseterre, St. Kitts – For the second consecutive year the TDC Group of Companies has given its corporate backing to the St. Kitts Nevis Patriots in their quest to capture the 2018 Caribbean Premier Cricket League (CPL) title.

At the official presentation ceremony held at the Kayan Jet private air terminal, Ms. Mia Bailey, the TDC Client Relations and Marketing Manager handed over the company’s silver sponsorship package to Mr. Richard Berridge, St. Kitts-Nevis Patriots Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Mr. Berridge expressed his gratitude and remarked that he is confident with respect to the shared benefits to be derived from the sponsors joining forces with the Patriots and by extension, with CPL, which is already recognized as one of the world’s leading 20/20 cricket tournaments.

He noted that sponsors partnership with the franchise and the immensely popular CPL would be favourable to the sponsors in a number of ways, especially bolstering the partners’ brand on the global stage.

Speaking after the event, Ms. Bailey made mention of TDC’s association with Sports and deemed it a pleasure to endorse the team and wished them well in their endeavours.
