TDC is currently seeking applications from experienced, energetic professionals to fill the position of Senior Human Resources Officer, in the Human Resources Department, Fort Street, St. Kitts.
The Senior Human Resources Officer will support Department Managers to effectively and efficiently manage their employees by overseeing the recruitment, onboarding, employee exit, training, performance management, overall employee experience, and employee compensation.
Responsibilities
– Supervises staff managing the HR related matters for the Departments
– Specifically oversees the management of Recruitment, Onboarding, Employee Exits, Training, Development, Training, Performance Management, Overall Employee Experience and Employee Compensation.
– Ensures adequate training and development activities for all levels of staff and management which are strategically aligned to company objectives and emerging needs
– Reviews the compensation structure, making recommendations for improvement to maintain competitiveness and maintain a strong retention rate
– Reviews and recommends HR best practice approaches to maintain the highest standards for service delivery
– Ensures that all HR practices comply with current legislation (e.g. Labour Code of St. Kitts and Nevis etc.)
– Conducts ongoing research regarding emerging trends as well as best practices to improve competitive advantage
– Deploys sound communication strategies to share information with staff
– Assists in conducting job evaluations and skills audits
– Maintains the competency framework and makes recommendations for improvement where necessary
– Prepares job descriptions for the assigned Business Units
– Assesses the needs of employees through regular satisfaction surveys, making recommendations for improvement
– Prepares monthly reports for the CHRO
Recruitment
– Reviews and approves employment request forms and job descriptions
– Reviews and approves vacancy announcements prepared by the HRO
– Coordinates the recruitment process by assuring that the Company recruits the best talents
– Specifically participates in interviews for Supervisors and other Senior staff
– Ensures total compliance with recruitment and onboarding policies and procedures including, documentation submissions, work permits, employment offers, reference checks, credit checks and background checks
– Reviews compliance requirements to ensure adjustments are made to policies
– Ensures that applicants are responded to in a timely manner
– Ensures that responses to unsuccessful candidates are prepared
– Guides HR Administration in the preparation of employment offers, letters of confirmation, termination, transfers etc.
– Communicates with potential candidates
– Ensures the continuous updating of the HRIS – Epic HR Software
– Ensures compliance with new hire documentation
– Ensures that the 90-day on-boarding plans are prepared and adequately administered
– Manages the exit procedures for employees leaving Company voluntarily or involuntarily
– Liaises with recruitment agencies were necessary
Performance and Productivity
– Maintains the Company’s performance management program to ensure compliance with annual appraisal submissions
– Collaborates with Managers to addresses Company-wide performance and productivity challenges
– Formulates performance reports for each department
– Recommends strategies and policies to enhance performance and productivity results
– Oversees the development of individual work plans
– Collaborates with Managers and HRO’s to set individual performance mandates
– Monitors performance Company-wide
– Presents regular reports on performance and productivity
– Assists in reviewing the performance tools
Training and Development
– Maintains a robust schedule of Training Activities including New Employee Orientation Sessions with the assistance of the HRO’s
– Conducts Training Needs Assessments annually and prepares budget submissions
– Sources training facilitators and collaborate to create meaningful and effective training plans
– Makes presentations to staff and management as needed
– Where required, assists the Training and Development officer in carrying out training and development events
– Coordinates the development of employee career plans and professional certifications
– Coordinates the initiatives to conduct succession and replacement planning
– Plans and executes executing job enrichment exercises
– Organizes professional development for all Company staffs
– Creates and communicates educational opportunities for staff
Compensation
– Reviews compensation structures and makes recommendations for improvement
– Conducts periodic compensation surveys in collaboration with the HR Administrations
– Ensures that all compensation systems are equitable
– Reviews the rewards and recognition programme and makes recommendations for improvement
Employer-Employee Relations
– Manages the complaints and grievances handling process
– Coordinates and support industrial relations matters
– Provides guidance for staff needing Employee Assistance Program (EAP) support
General Duties
– Assists in achieving HR related projects
– Assists in Managing the WCT Scholarship Program
– Performs any other duties as assigned
Qualification and Experience
– Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management, Psychology, and or related fields. Master’s Degree is a plus.
– Experience: The Human Resources Officer should have at least 7 years relevant experience as an HR Generalist, HR Specialist or Supervisor of an HR Unit
– Professional qualification: PHR; SPHR; CIPD encouraged to be attained within the first two (2) years of employment
