Basseterre, St. Kitts – The TDC Home and Building Depots are celebrating Pinktober in the month of October to help increase public awareness of breast cancer.
The retail stores month-long sales and promotional event dubbed, “Pinktober” is designed to draw even more attention to the ongoing national breast cancer efforts with a Pink Sale, giving patrons up to seventy-five percent discount on a wide variety of products at both locations.
Pink Friday Flash Sales forms part of the offering, where customers have opportunities to receive exclusive offers on selected items in store and online for limited time, every Friday.
The campaign also has a community outreach programme, where each location has set up a “Pink Room.” A private and confidential space in-house that opens every Saturday. On Solidarity Saturdays, customers and the wider public, (women and men) can take advantage of the free breast screenings offered by a team of certified and trained health professionals, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The sessions will give screened persons a chance to qualify for a chance to win a free mammogram, along with counselling and referral services, where necessary, to reinforce the message that “early detection saves lives.”
Pinktober is one of several annual activities on the TDC Home and Building Depots eduseries agenda. It is specifically designed to inform customers and staff through education about breast cancer, screening, symptoms, and treatment. It also further demonstrates the companies’ commitment to giving hope to the survivors and inspiration to others who are impacted by the deadly disease.
